Uploading & Inserting Images

Background:
Any and all images must be hosted or placed on an internet web server and not your local computer or C drive. The images can be on your company's web server or our server. Here are the instructions to move images to our server. This help file assumes you are using our web based HTML editor.

How to add images - There 2 different ways:

Method 1 (Copy/Paste): Internet/browser images only
Simply copy your images from your computer, one by one, and paste into our HTML Editor while editing your template.

Please DO NOT cut and paste local (your computer) images from MS Word or image editing tools. Only paste from internet web pages.
  1. Click on an image in a web browser
  2. Right-click your mouse and select copy (or use ctrl-c)
  3. Now, in a web browser, opened to Internet Mail Manager and viewing your template detail or email message, scroll down to the HTML Editor
  4. Position your cursor, using your mouse, a click the spot where you want to place the image
  5. Right-click your mouse again and select "paste" (or use ctrl-v)
Method 2: (Best for local images)
  1. First you must upload your images, gifs or jpgs, using our uploader. This can be found the the template builder or where you see your template detail data. Note: images must be smaller than 30k* (please contact us if this is a problem)
  2. Next, goto your template detail, where you can change your template or email message. In our HTML editor, click your cursor/mouse in the place where you'd like to insert an image.
  3. Then click on the ()icon. This will open a new window showing you all the files you have uploaded. Click "insert" and the window should close and your image should appear in place.
Thats it. If you need to change the image properties like size, alignment, or border - right-click the inserted image and select "Modify Image Properties".

Note:
There is no need for images to be larger than 20k. Most medium sized images with good quality should be between 5k and 10k. If an image's file size is larger, then it can be optimized using your graphic editor such as Fireworks, ImageReady, PhotoShop, and countless others.

Image Tips:
  1. Small images (less than 100 pixels wide or about 2 inches/8cm) are best saved as GIFs with as few colors as posible.
  2. For lager images with lots of colors like photos are best saved as JPGs at 70% to 80% quality.
  3. For lager images with fewer colors like logos are best saved as GIFs with 128 or fewer colors.
  4. Black and white images are almost always best saved as GIFs.
  5. Our prefered image program is Macromedia's Fireworks. It is very easy to use, made for web graphics and costs less than $100.
