Still Time to Extend Holiday e-Wishes!

There is no better time than the holiday season to send your clients and customers a friendly greeting. 'Tis the season for giving, sharing... and shopping! Consumers spent $459.3 million online (excluding travel) over the three-day weekend following Thanksgiving, a 69% increase from last year. Over the next two weeks, your customers will be in a nearly frantic state of consumerism. In this state, they may find a warm reminder of your quality products and services to be as helpful to them as it will be lucrative for you. The time to capitalize on this season of opportunity is running out. Act now to share the holiday spirit with your loyal customers while boosting your sales.



Featured Client: Bryn Mawr Communications

Bryn Mawr Communications LLC (BMC), of Philadelphia, has begun using Internet Mail Manager to send a variety of online publications for several of their clients. Two of their publications are medical in nature, focusing on new developments in the optical and endovascular surgery fields.
BMC takes advantage of Internet Mail Manager's comprehensive tracking reports. These reports allow them to provide their advertisers with detailed information on exactly how their ads are being seen and responded to.


Forwarding Feature - Feedback?

All our users can now create and insert a forward link into all of their emails, for the purpose of tracking who and how many readers are forwarding their emails along to colleagues, friends, and family. It isn't feasible to automatically insert the forwardees directly into your email list, but everyone who receives a forwarded email has the option to subscribe to your future mailings. We are currently finishing the last few details of the report that will display how your readers use this feature. This is where your feedback comes in! Please take a moment to let us know exactly what information you desire or require from such a report. What would be the most informative, and -- more importantly -- the most useful to you?

Internet Mail Manager 101

Unsubscription
We require our customers to always include an unsubscribe link in each email they send. Having this included in each message greatly diminishes the potential for "spam" issues in the future. Internet Mail Manager will automatically create an unsubscribe link for you when you create each new template. When your reader clicks on this link, they get a pop-up window that shows the address the email was sent to, then asks them to confirm the unsubscription. Once they do, their account is marked unsubscribed in the database, with no work on the account administrator's part required.

Group Email Addresses
The use of single email addresses that actually send to multiple readers is not recommended. Some of our customers use addresses like these for testing their emails. I.e., "info@yourcompany.com" or "staff@yourcompany.com". The problem is that if just one of the people who gets mail from this address unsubscribes, everyone else will stop receiving mail. Also, all the other recipients will get a "you have been unsubscribed" message, potentially causing confusion and inconvenience.

Subscriber Update Feature
Coming soon will be an 'Update' feature, that will allow you to place an automatically-generated Update link on your emails. Readers who click on this Update link will have the ability to view and modify their account information as it exists in your database. This will be a valuable tool for holding onto readers who are changing jobs, email addresses, locations, etc. We will notify you through this newsletter when this feature has been enabled!
